What is the difference between PowerVM and VMware ESXi?
PowerVM is designed from the ground up for critical workloads on POWER architecture. It has no known hypervisor vulnerabilities, enables CPU utilisation above 90% and provides full redundancy through VIOS. ESXi is a more general-purpose hypervisor and does not achieve those reliability levels for critical workloads.
Do you manage all three operating systems under one contract?
Yes. At SIXE we work with AIX, IBM i and Linux ppc64le under a single consulting contract. You don't need a different vendor for each operating system.
Do you offer 24×7 support?
Yes, we offer optional 24×7 and 8×5 support for the full IBM Power infrastructure, as well as for IBM Spectrum Scale, Protect and Virtualize. Pricing is adjusted to the size and criticality of your environment.
