Sales and migration of IBM Power11.

§ 02 · The number that matters
2.5× Per-core performance
Power11 vs Power10

IBM claims up to 2.5× higher per-core performance compared to Power10, thanks to the new DDIMM subsystem DDR5 4800 MT/s and the second generation of the Matrix Math Accelerator.

For OLTP and transactional AI workloads, an S1122 handles today what used to require two sockets. At the top end, the E1180 holds 99.9999% availability — the most resilient Power server ever built.

§ 03 · What the S1112 changes

The range closes at the bottom.

With the S1112 announced on 14 July 2026, Power11 covers the entry-level segment for the first time in a 2U half-width chassis. It fits into a branch-office rack at the price of a small server and shares the same OS matrix, hypervisor and firmware as the rest of the range.

The full MTM, processor, memory, PCIe and IBM i P05 availability details are on the model's dedicated datasheet.

§ 04 · Power11 technology

Key features of Power11.

Autonomous infrastructure engineered for business continuity, operational efficiency and scalable growth — the same technology across the whole range, from S1112 to E1180.

01

Zero downtime

Firmware, memory and component updates without pausing critical workloads. Silicon-level spare cores that kick in on failure and ransomware detection in < 1 minute.

02

Quantum-safe security

Transparent memory encryption (TME), 4770 crypto module with FIPS 4 certification and post-quantum algorithms on secure boot and secure LPM.

03

Energy efficiency

Up to +28% with the Energy Efficiency mode. Titanium power supplies and the DDIMM DDR5 4800 MT/s subsystem cut per-core consumption versus Power10.

04

Built-in AI

Matrix Math Accelerator v2 on top of Dense Math Engine in every core. Fraud, scoring and log analysis with datacentre latency without leaving the socket, no external GPU required.

05

Hybrid cloud

AIX, IBM i and Linux on IBM Cloud without refactoring. Enterprise Pools 2.0 with per-minute billing and high availability between on-premise and cloud.

06

Automatic resilience

Spare cores, memory mirroring and proactive fault detection. Power RAS keeps availability continuous even during degradation — no human intervention needed.

§ 05 · Generation on generation

IBM Power10 vs IBM Power11.

Every Power10 model has its Power11 equivalent with more cores per socket, DDR5 instead of DDR4, PCIe Gen5 at the top of the range and MMA v2 on the chip.

§ 07 · How we work

Why choose SIXE.

IBM Business Partner since 2009. Sales, migration and support end to end — we don't sell hardware just to disappear afterwards.

01 Sales and sizing

The model you need, not the one that's left over

Sizing based on real workload, not on the catalogue. Rack, tower or mixed depending on the physical environment.

  • LPARs, effective RAM, IOPS and network traffic measured
  • Rack vs tower depending on datacentre, branch or shop floor
  • Quote with hardware, software and services broken out
  • Honest comparison against x86 alternatives when they apply
02 Migration

From POWER8/9/10 or x86

Controlled cut-over window and a roll-back plan at every stage. No surprises on the day.

  • AIX 7.x and IBM i 7.x — level and PTF review upfront
  • Linux on Power — kernel, driver and toolchain rebase
  • Live Partition Mobility when the topology allows it
  • Performance tests with real workload before and after
03 L2/L3 support

In your language, with SLA in writing

8×5 or 24/7 for AIX, IBM i, PowerVM, Linux on Power, HMC and VIOS. Also POWER9/10 outside IBM cover.

  • Direct access to senior engineers, not a lost ticket
  • Servers, storage, backup and virtualisation
  • Remote assistance 24/7 for critical incidents
