This isn't an introductory Linux course — we assume advanced administration of RHEL/CentOS/AlmaLinux, TCP/IP, VLANs, bridges and bonding, and notions of iSCSI/NFS and hypervisors.

Frequently asked questions

Is oVirt a real alternative to VMware vSphere?

Yes, with honest caveats. For mid-sized clusters and data centres with mixed Linux/Windows workloads, oVirt covers live snapshots, hot migration, HA, advanced storage control and centralized management — the features most sites actually depend on. It's a respectable competitor to vSphere, and the story got sharper after the Broadcom changes. Very large VMware estates with heavy dependencies on the surrounding ecosystem require a case-by-case migration study.

Does it include a VMware migration lab?

Yes. The final lab is a practical exercise migrating VMs from ESXi to KVM/oVirt using virt-v2v, importing OVF/OVA, adjusting virtual hardware and validating the result. If your team is planning a real migration, we can align the lab with your source and target environments.

What background do I need?

Advanced administration of RHEL, CentOS or AlmaLinux, comfort with TCP/IP, VLANs, bridges and bonding, notions of iSCSI/NFS storage and basic virtualization concepts. This is not a starting-Linux course — for that we recommend our intensive GNU/Linux administration courses first.

How many attendees can join, and what does it cost?

The workshop is delivered in-company, with pricing per group depending on size, format and language. Tell us your case — number of attendees, location, dates — and we come back with a concrete proposal.

Can it be delivered remotely?

Yes. We deliver on-site or remote, in Spanish, English and French, with a dedicated lab per attendee accessible over the network. Content and duration can be adjusted on request to match your environment (existing distribution, Windows VMs in the mix, focus on VMware migration, etc.).
