OpenStack training
for companies

Get your team running private cloud, from the first deployment to production. Three levels, always on the latest release, taught in your own language.

[ 01 ]Why OpenStack, and why now

Private cloud already has a standard. What's missing is people who know how to run it.

More and more organisations are moving away from VMware, building sovereign clouds or standing up on-premise AI infrastructure — and every one of those paths leads to OpenStack. With over 55 million cores in production, the platform no longer needs to prove it's ready. What it needs are teams who know how to operate it.

That's why we train your team on upstream OpenStack, on the latest release, with real-world deployments from scratch and instructors who manage production clouds every single day. Three levels, each with its own verifiable digital badge on Credly.

3 days to build your OpenStack.
1 day to leave VMware.

Add this extra day to Level 1 and walk out with your own cloud up and your first VMware workloads already migrated onto it. Built for small teams that want to switch without sitting through three separate courses — using open-source tooling (virt-v2v) and a real lab on your own cloud.

Why train with SIXE

  1. 01Upstream, no lock-inWe teach upstream OpenStack, which works with any distribution. What you learn doesn't expire with a single vendor's roadmap.

  3. 03Real deployments, not demosEvery attendee builds a multi-node cloud from scratch in their own lab. No pre-baked environments.
  4. 04Instructors who run itYou're taught by the same engineers who migrate and operate OpenStack clouds for our clients.
  5. 05In your languageEnglish, Spanish and French — the only upstream OpenStack training available in three languages in Europe.

[ 06 ]Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior OpenStack experience?

For Level 1, no — solid Linux administration is enough. Levels 2 and 3 assume you already run OpenStack at a basic level.

Which OpenStack version do you teach?

Always the latest stable release with a yearly upgrade path (currently 2026.1 "Gazpacho"). We refresh the material with every release.

Is this vendor-specific training?

No. We teach upstream OpenStack — the community standard — so it applies to any distribution. What you learn doesn't depend on any vendor's commercial roadmap.

What do I get when I finish?

Each level issues a verifiable digital badge on Credly that you can share on LinkedIn.

We're moving off VMware — where do we start?

Level 1 for the operations team and Level 3 for architects. If you're a small or mid-sized business, the natural bundle is Level 1 + VMware migration module (4 days): you deploy your cloud and migrate your first workloads. And if you'd rather, we can also run the VMware to OpenStack migration for you.

Where does VMware migration live in the path?

In two different places, depending on who you are. The 1-day module adds on to Level 1 and is aimed at small teams that want to build their cloud and migrate their first VMs in a single course. And in Level 3, for architects planning large-scale migrations, it sits inside the course itself with the deeper version (enterprise tooling, wave planning) and an optional 1-day extended workshop.
