Clustering implementation and support with PowerHA for AIX and Linux
High Availability (HA) is a critical component of enterprise infrastructure, ensuring that applications remain accessible even during planned and unplanned outages.
Effective implementation of HA solutions is essential to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure operational continuity.
The main objective of these solutions is to provide a nearly uninterrupted service of the applications, thus protecting the integrity and productivity of the most critical environments.
At SIXE we work primarily with two solutions:
PowerHA SystemMirror (AIX)
PowerHA SystemMirror (formerly known as HACMP) represents an advanced evolution in high availability solutions specifically designed for AIX environments.
This solution takes clustering technology to the next level, providing enterprises with a more robust cluster environment and simplified management.
With PowerHA, critical applications such as Spectrum Protect (TSM), Informix, DB2, SAP, SAS or Oracle can operate with high availability, ensuring business continuity in the most demanding AIX environments.
PowerHA’s ease of management and robustness make it an indispensable tool for maintaining operability in critical scenarios.
Pacemaker (Red Hat and SUSE Linux)
Pacemaker is the leading tool for managing high-availability clusters in Linux environments, specifically for SUSE and Red Hat distributions.
This solution offers flexible and robust resource management, ensuring business continuity even in the event of system failures.
Pacemaker is especially ideal for environments that integrate SAP HANA together with IBM Storage Scale (GPFS), ensuring optimal performance and availability.
Its ability to efficiently manage clusters makes Pacemaker a reliable solution for maintaining stability in business-critical environments.
Technical support and professional services
Our services are not only limited to the implementation of PowerHA and Pacemaker, but also include the continuous monitoring of clusters, the application of best practices in change management, and periodic testing to ensure high availability.
In addition, we integrate these solutions into your organization’s Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and assist in its development.
Finally, we ensure that all software is up to date, carrying out successful migrations between PowerHA versions 6.1, 7.1 and 7.2 with no impact on production environments, as well as migrations of Pacemaker clusters from SUSE 12 to SUSE 15 and from Red Hat 7 and 8 to Red Hat 9.
Related technologies (distributed storage and HPC)
At SIXE we have specialists in the design and deployment of all types of solutions based on IBM PowerHA for AIX and Linux.
Also in the integration of active-active solutions with storage clusters with GPFS (Spectrum Scale). We are IBM certified and currently support more than 20 customers worldwide whose critical environments are highly available thanks to this technology.
