It's the Advanced level of SIXE's OpenStack training path. Recommended after the Basic and Intermediate levels, and open directly to architects with solid production experience.

Three days of architecture, migration and automation on an already-deployed cloud. Day one is migration; day three closes with a capstone that stands itself up from a pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to have done Intermediate first?

Recommended, not required. We assume solid experience running OpenStack in production. There's a direct route for architects with prior experience: if operational context is missing, day one includes a quick assessment that levels the team.

Is a real VM actually migrated, or just explained?

It's migrated. Day one is dedicated in full to VMware→OpenStack migration, with the complete methodology and a hands-on migration of a real lab workload.

Does Kubernetes cover Magnum? And GPU?

Yes. Kubernetes is covered as a service on OpenStack. On GPU we cover the architecture and planning side; the live portion depends on the hardware available for each cohort — we'll tell you before booking.

Which version of OpenStack do you teach?

The latest stable release with an annual upgrade cycle — currently 2026.1 «Gazpacho». If a new one ships before your course, we refresh the material at no extra cost.

Can we add an extra day of VMware migration?

Yes. We offer a 1-day extended VMware migration workshop as an add-on to the Advanced course, with real-customer wave planning and additional guided migrations. Booked on request.
