Five days of full immersion in PowerHA SystemMirror on a realistic environment: client LPARs running on VIOS on real IBM Power servers in our labs. We start with the fundamentals and move up to advanced cluster management, so you leave ready to operate in production, not just with notes.

We cover what turns up every day in a mission-critical environment: cluster design and rollout, tuning cluster behaviour to specific environments, configuration changes, hot administration and — when something breaks — troubleshooting and log analysis to get the service back into the green.

What background do I need?

At least one year of experience administering AIX or Linux on Power Systems. It's an advanced course — we don't start from scratch on the operating system, but we do on PowerHA and cluster management.

How does this differ from the official IBM AN61G / AN62G courses?

This is an in-house SIXE course with an intensive 5-day focus on a realistic environment with PowerHA clusters in our labs. The official IBM courses (AN61G and AN62G) follow the official syllabus and we also deliver them separately.

What hardware are the labs run on?

On real IBM Power servers in our labs, with client LPARs running on VIOS. Each attendee works against a PowerHA cluster that mirrors a production environment — not a desktop simulator.

Does the course cover both AIX and Linux on Power?

Yes. PowerHA SystemMirror runs on both AIX and Linux on Power, and this course is designed for administrators of both systems. The more specific parts are tailored to the group's profile.

Which delivery formats are available?
