LenovoThinkSystem SC777 V4

A tray with the NVIDIA GB200 NVL4 platform: two Grace CPUs and four B200 GPUs with 744 GB of HBM3e between them, cooled by water alone. Eight go into a 13U N1380 enclosure, and up to 24 into a rack.

What's inside

The SC777 V4 has a fixed CPU, GPU and memory; what you choose is the network and the drives. Figures from Lenovo's guide. Lenovo Press product guide

Two configurations: HPC or training

Each tray reaches a peak of 160 TFLOPS in double precision, and the four GPUs are linked to each other over NVLink at 1.8 TB/s. Lenovo holds four SPEChpc 2021 single-node records with it, current as of 1 October 2026.

It's ordered in one of two configurations. The HPC one takes up to six 400 Gb/s ConnectX-7 adapters for the cluster network, at the expense of drives: they share the same PCIe lanes. The training one links each GPU to its own 800 Gb/s network port and its drives through ConnectX-8, so the data doesn't go through the CPU.

What we do

We deliver it with RHEL or Ubuntu, CUDA and the NVIDIA HPC SDK, MPI and Slurm or IBM LSF as the scheduler, connected to storage with IBM Storage Scale. More on this in HPC with Slurm, LSF and Storage Scale.

The GPUs

What your data centre needs

Almost all the heat leaves through the water, with no fans: around 95% with 45 °C water and a 30 °C room. You need a CDU and treated water, and for maintenance a material lift, because each tray weighs 36.5 kg. We go through it with you before you order.

N1380: the enclosure

The trays stand vertically in the N1380 enclosure, which provides the power, the water and the management. It has no built-in network: each tray connects to the rack's switches.

Questions about the ThinkSystem SC777 V4

What is GB200 NVL4?

It's the NVIDIA platform that links two Grace CPUs and four B200 GPUs over NVLink on a single board. The four GPUs form a full mesh and each one talks to its CPU at 450 GB/s. The CPU memory, 960 GB of LPDDR5X, is soldered and can't be expanded.

Will my applications run on Arm?

Grace is Arm. CUDA runs on Arm, but whatever runs on the CPU has to be compiled for that architecture, and not every commercial application has an Arm version. Before you order, we go through each application with you.

Can it be shipped to any country?

Lenovo lists it under the US export classification 5A992.z, so depending on the destination it may need a licence. We check it when we prepare the quote.

What warranty does it come with?

Three or five years depending on the model, with an on-site engineer next business day. Those response times don't cover GPU faults, which Lenovo handles with no committed time, so we offer our own 24×7 on-call support with SLA.

Is the SC777 V4 right for your applications?

Tell us what you run, how many nodes you need and what your data centre looks like, and we'll come back with the configuration, the price and a confirmed lead time.
