Ryzen with Windows 11 Pro or EPYC with Windows 11 Home

The AS-C521D-11302U is the one that stands apart: an 8-core Ryzen 7 9700X, 32 GB and Windows 11 Pro, the edition that joins Active Directory or Entra ID and is managed with group policies. It is the desktop for development, data analysis or any work that leans on lots of cores, and the only one of the three that joins a managed network without buying another licence.

The two with EPYC 4000 series processors share 16 GB and Windows 11 Home and differ in the CPU: the AS-C521D-21101U has a 6-core EPYC 4245P for desks running heavier applications, and the AS-C521D-31101U stays at a 4-core EPYC 4124P for admin work. Windows 11 Home cannot join a domain, so if your desks need that, the upgrade to Pro goes into the quote. And although they carry EPYC, the board uses non-ECC memory, so they do not bring the memory protection of a server. None of the three takes a graphics card; if you need one, look at the SYS-C542i-11302U in the AI family.

Frequently asked questions

Are they servers or desktop computers?

Desktops: a board with an AMD B850 chipset, non-ECC DDR5 memory, a 300 W power supply and video outputs, in a 92 × 341 × 290 mm case. For an office server, the AS-E300-14GR-01-G2 from the edge family is a better fit, with a BMC for remote management.

Can the memory be expanded?

They have two slots, and the datasheet gives the memory already fitted as the maximum: 32 GB on the Ryzen model and 16 GB on the two EPYC models. If the desk is going to need more than 16 GB, choose the AS-C521D-11302U from the start.

Do you set them up before delivery?

Yes. They arrive with Windows updated, your image and applications if you have them, and joined to the domain in the case of the Pro model. For large numbers of desks, we prepare them in batches from the same image.
