Edge with 10 GbE networking and room for a card
It shares its chassis with the AS-E300-14GR, 26 × 23 cm and 43 mm high, and adds exactly what that format usually lacks. The two 10 GbE ports (Intel X550) can take in video from many cameras or sync with the data centre without the link becoming the bottleneck, and the low-profile PCIe 5.0 x16 slot takes an extra network card or a compact accelerator. Supermicro aims it at video surveillance, among other uses, and inside there is also a bay for a 2.5-inch SATA drive.
Memory is the limit: two SO-DIMM slots with a maximum of 96 GB, half that of the AMD version, so if you plan to consolidate several virtual machines at the site the AS-E300-14GR has more room to grow. The OS drive is a single 960 GB NVMe, and the 2.5-inch bay lets you add a second drive and mirror them.
What we do
We install it with Ubuntu or RHEL and k3s for container workloads, or with Proxmox VE if virtual machines will run alongside. If it is going to record or analyse video, we work out with you how many cameras the 10 GbE ports can take and which card makes sense in the PCIe slot, and we ship it fully tested.

What fits in the PCIe slot?
A low-profile card in a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, powered by the same 180 W supply as the rest of the unit. That rules out large GPUs, but network cards, video capture cards and compact low-power accelerators fit; we confirm compatibility for the one you have in mind before you order.
Should I choose it over the AS-E300-14GR?
If networking is your limit, yes: two 10 GbE ports and a PCIe x16 slot that the AMD version lacks. The AS-E300-14GR wins on cores (16 against 14) and maximum memory (192 GB against 96), and is a better starting point for consolidating several virtual machines.
Can the OS be mirrored?
Yes. The 960 GB NVMe sits in the M.2 slot and there is an internal bay for a 2.5-inch SATA drive, so with a second drive in that bay we set up a software mirror for the OS before delivery.
