Target Audience
This course is designed for development, QA, testing and infrastructure teams working with HashiCorp Vault in production who need to understand its architecture and functionality to integrate and test reliably.
Prerequisites:
Before taking this course, the following skills are recommended:
- Basic familiarity with the Linux command line
- General security concepts (authentication, authorisation, encryption)
- No prior experience with HashiCorp Vault is required

- Authentication and Policies — Authentication methods for people and applications. Writing and assigning access policies. Isolation and multi-tenancy

Day 2 — Integration and Testing
- Integration Patterns — Injecting secrets into applications. Automation with Vault Agent. Integration in Kubernetes environments. Using Vault in CI/CD pipelines
- Auditing and Operations — Audit devices and traceability. Secret rotation and lease management. Monitoring and health checks
- Testing Strategies with Vault — Vault environments for testing. Mocking and response simulation. Policy validation. Testing credential rotation and revocation. Ephemeral containers for integration tests
- ? Lab: Configuring authentication for a test application. Integrating Vault Agent into a real workflow. Validating policies and simulating credential rotation while verifying application behaviour
Day 3 — Deep Dive
