Intel virtualisation with plenty of memory per core

1 TB for 32 cores gives you 32 GB per core, the highest ratio in this family, which suits workloads that need memory before CPU, such as large virtual machines, caches or databases licensed per core. The four 25 GbE ports let you separate storage traffic from VM traffic in hardware without adding cards, and with a single processor, anything licensed per socket counts one.

To reach 1 TB with sixteen modules on an eight-channel processor, the board runs two per channel and the memory drops to 6,000 MT/s. In virtualisation you will barely notice, but for compute that lives on memory bandwidth a dual-socket model such as the SYS-222H-TN-01 performs better.

What we do

We install whichever hypervisor you use, be it Proxmox VE, VMware or KVM on RHEL, with the four interfaces assigned by function and the BMC (the remote management controller) on the management network. And if the rest of your estate is out of vendor support, we cover it with our independent support.

Questions about the SYS-112H-TN-02-G2

Can it fit a GPU in 1U?

One double-width or three single-width cards: NVIDIA L4, L40S or RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition, plus the Intel Data Center GPU Flex 170. For light inference or video transcoding, an L4 fits without changing chassis.

How does it differ from the SYS-122C-TN-01-G2?

Both are 1U with Xeon 6, but the SYS-122C carries two 36-core processors with the same terabyte of memory, more than twice the cores. This one keeps a single processor and four 25 GbE ports, and works out better if you pay per-socket licences or your workload needs memory before CPU.

Does it support MRDIMM memory?

Yes: with one module per channel it reaches 512 GB of MRDIMM (modules that combine two ranks to gain bandwidth) at 8,000 MT/s. That is the option for compute that lives on bandwidth, but it means half the memory of the Gold configuration, so for virtualisation the standard RDIMMs make more sense.

Is the SYS-112H-TN-02-G2 right for what you're building?

Tell us about the workload and the data centre it's going into, and we'll come back with the price, a confirmed lead time and what it would take to get it running.
