With these technologies, you can set up a fully or partially software-defined (SDI) and 100% OpenStack-compatible environment in minutes on which to deploy your AIX, IBM i, Linux and PaaS workspaces with Red Hat OpenShift.
You can choose between architectures with internal storage (SAN-less) thanks to IBM Spectrum Scale, migrate your existing configuration with VIOS servers and external SAN as well as define intermediate architectures in order to progressively adopt cloud standards. To facilitate this task you can use IBM’s virtualized environment management tool, PowerVC with support for your AIX, Linux and IBM systems running on both PowerVM and KVM based hypervisors, integrating your Power systems into your Intel or AMD x86 based Cloud.
PowerVC supports AIX, Linux and IBM i in any of their supported versions and can be configured to manage your systems in conjunction with your HMC console so that no change or migration is disruptive. Once deployed, we can use any utility such as Terraform, Ansible or Satellite to deploy and maintain any type of infrastructure on IBM Power Systems, including the latest versions of Red Hat OpenShift with all its supported software catalog.
