IBM FileNet P8 Platform essentials V5.5.x (F2800G)

1.225,00€

The map you need before administering FileNet P8: how a domain is organised, where the logs are when something breaks, how you audit who touched what, how layered security works, and where the content lives.

SKU: 262. Category: FileNet
  • Description

Description

IBM course code:F2800G
Delivery:Online, classroom or onsite
Duration:1 day (8 hours)
Who it is for:Administrators and users responsible for administering and configuring the IBM FileNet P8 Platform.
Recommended background:Familiarity with enterprise content management concepts.

Who this course fits

  • You inherited a FileNet built years ago and there is no diagram of how it is organised.
  • Content from several subsidiaries has to be separated, and nobody has decided where to cut.
  • Someone has asked you to prove who accessed a particular case file.

Course content

  • Introduction to IBM FileNet P8: what enterprise content management is, platform features, integration options, components and solutions
  • Architecture and domain structures: P8 and Content Platform Engine architecture, domain resources, tools, sites and how the components relate
  • Configure logging: Content Platform Engine system logs, default locations, web application server logs, trace logs and guidelines for monitoring them
  • Configure auditing: what auditing is and why you do it, audit definitions, entries, history and pruning, and audit processing bookmarks
  • Introduction to P8 security: authentication and authorization with their typical errors, user roles, object security terms, the order permissions are granted in, the #AUTHENTICATED-USERS group, object ownership, independent and dependent security, and Content Navigator desktop security
  • Manage storage areas: types of storage area, support for advanced S3 devices, options, file storage area states, storage policies and storage area farms
  • Introduction to content services containers: which containers are available for P8, their benefits, and what changes when administering components in a container environment
  • Organize content across the enterprise: multitenancy considerations and the three levels of isolation — separate domains, separate object stores, and within a single object store

Training with SIXE, IBM Business Partner

  • Labs on a running FileNet P8 domain: walking its structures, configuring tracing, creating audit definitions and standing up a storage area with its policy.
  • Taught directly by IBM Champion instructors from the SIXE team.
  • Credly badges on completion: credly.com/organizations/sixe/badges
  • Flexible format — online, classroom or onsite — in closed groups, priced per attendee, in the language of your choice (ES / EN / FR).

Instructors specialised in IBM FileNet

Taught by engineers from the SIXE team who administer FileNet P8 domains in production — the ones who get the call when the Content Platform Engine stops responding.

Frequently asked questions

Is this administration or introduction?
It is the map you need first: you see the whole architecture and configure logging, auditing, security and storage, but without the day-to-day administration, which is P8 5.5 administration (F2810G).

Does it cover containers?
Yes, one block covers content services containers: which ones are available, what they buy you, and what changes when administering the platform in containers rather than on servers.

What about several companies on one system?
That is the last block, and the most frequently asked: the three levels of isolation — separate domains, separate object stores, or separation within a single object store — and the trade-off in each.

Can it be run on our own domain?
Yes, and that is the usual way: the walkthrough of the domain structures is done on yours, so you finish with a map of your installation rather than a sample one. If you would rather not touch production, we set the lab up ourselves.

Can you deliver it at our premises?
Yes, and remotely with a live instructor too. Closed groups of four to ten people, in Spanish, English or French.
