SKU: 263. Category: FileNet
  • Description

Description

For over 15 years we have been delivering official IBM training to enterprises, public administrations and IT professionals across Europe and Latin America. This introductory course gives you a first hands-on contact with IBM FileNet Content Manager 5.6.x in a containerised environment running on Red Hat OpenShift, walks you through its architecture and teaches you how to access content using IBM Business Automation Navigator. A short, practical course designed for those who are starting with FileNet or who need to understand how it fits inside IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation.

Delivery: Online and classroomDuration: 1 hours
Version: FileNet Content Manager 5.6.xDigital badge: Yes, after completing the Instructor-Led version

Course description

This course provides technical professionals with an introduction to IBM FileNet Content Manager in a containerised environment. You will learn how to work with a FileNet Content Manager repository and how to access its content through Business Automation Navigator. The course starts with an overview of IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, continues with the architecture and features of the containerised FileNet Content Manager environment, and ends with hands-on practice accessing content via Business Automation Navigator.

Target audience

Developers and administrators who need a first contact with IBM FileNet Content Manager 5.6.x, especially those who will be working with deployments on Cloud Pak for Business Automation and Red Hat OpenShift.

Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of enterprise content management (ECM) concepts and general familiarity with container environments. No previous FileNet experience is required.

Learning objectives

  • Understand what IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation is and how FileNet fits into its ecosystem.
  • Explain the architecture of the FileNet Content Platform Engine.
  • Monitor cluster health from the Red Hat OpenShift console.
  • Verify that IBM FileNet P8 components are in running status.
  • Navigate the FileNet platform and explore IBM Business Automation Navigator.
  • Understand the concept of multitenancy and how to isolate content between tenants.
  • Describe the fundamental functions of object stores.

Recognition and digital badge

When you complete the Instructor-Led version of this course, you will be eligible to earn an IBM training digital badge that you can display on LinkedIn, your website or your professional profiles to certify your knowledge of IBM FileNet Content Manager 5.6.x.

Instructors

The vast majority of our IBM courses are delivered directly by our own engineers, not by external trainers. It is the only way we know to guarantee real training quality. We complement every course with our own materials and labs, based on the experience we have gathered through FileNet deployments, migrations and projects over the past 15 years.

Added value

Even though this is an introductory course, our approach goes beyond reading the official slides. We adapt the content to the profile of each group: training a development team that will integrate applications against FileNet is not the same as training administrators who will deploy and operate it on OpenShift. In both cases we focus on the real-world problems that come up in projects and on how to solve them. Our documentation is always kept up to date to the latest product version.
