Desired Prerequisites:
You must have basic AIX system administration skills. These skills include:
- Using the Hardware Management Console (HMC) to activate a logical partition to run AIX and access the AIX system console.
- Installing an AIX operating system from a pre-configured NIM server.
- Implementing backup and recovery in AIX.
- Managing additional software and base operating system updates.
- Familiarity with management tools such as SMIT.
- Understanding how to manage file systems, logical volumes, and volume groups.
- Proficiency in the UNIX user interface, including using the vi editor, executing commands, input/output redirection, and using utilities like grep.
These skills can be acquired through experience or formal training. The recommended training course to obtain these prerequisite skills is:
- Power Systems for AIX II: AIX Implementation and Administration (AN12G) and prerequisites.
If the student has AIX system administration skills but is unfamiliar with the LPAR environment, these skills can be obtained by attending the following course:
- Power Systems for AIX I: LPAR Configuration and Planning (AN11G).
Instructors
The vast majority of IBM courses we offer are taught directly by our engineers. This is the only way we can guarantee the highest quality. We complement all training with our own materials and labs, based on our experience during deployments, migrations, and courses conducted over the years.
Added Value
Our courses are deeply focused on the role to be performed. The needs of a development team differ from those responsible for deploying and managing infrastructure. That is why, beyond commands and tasks, we focus on solving the problems that arise in the day-to-day work of each team. We provide them with the knowledge, competencies, and skills required for each project. Additionally, our documentation is based on the latest version of each product.
